An inlet catchpot is fitted to the pump inlet to minimize the ingress of condensable vapors into the pump. The vacuum pumping mechanism is oil sealed.You can inspect the level and condition of the oil in the oil-box through the sight-glass. Diagrams on the side panels and on the oil change tag give guidance on when you should change the oil. Two oil filler-plugs and an oil drain-plug are provided on the oil-box.
