The Buchi R-205 Rotavapor is a modular rotary evaporator designed to remove low boiling organic chemicals, from a mixture of compounds, most often solvents. Using simple distillation, the rotary evaporator is the method of choice for a modern organic laboratories solvent removal needs. By heating the sample while in a vacuum to lower the boiling point, a cold finger condenses the vapors and trapping the liquid in a separate flask. The Buchi R-205 Rotavapor uses a durable, chemical resistant PTFE/glass sealing system.
The Buchi R-205 Rotavapor has a small footprint, 33% smaller than previous rotary evaporators, with a space saving modular design that allows you to add integrated vacuum controllers.
